For clear, correct and consistent English

About me

I have worked as a freelance writer, editor and proofreader for over 20 years. Before then, I was an NHS manager. I also work now as a bereavement counsellor (in both human and pet loss). I am a faculty member at NHS R&D North West, and part of the freelance group of Plain Language Commission. I enjoy writing for publication, and have authored a book, distance-learning course, guides, several book chapters, and many journal and website articles.

I have a first-class BA (Hons) in modern languages and teaching English as a foreign language, an MBA, and a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I belong to the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
